DC Payments is continually seeking new technologies that will help our financial institution clients expand their services and reduce costs. We’re excited about the latest addition to our service offerings: interactive teller machines. This cutting-edge technology will allow credit unions and other financial institutions to offer in-person banking services more cost-effectively than a traditional brick-and-mortar branch — and in a variety of locations. These devices allow customers to interact with live tellers from remote call centres via real-time video.
Interactive teller machine benefits
Murray Clark, Director, Client Services and Sales Support for DC Payments, says that interactive teller machines are particularly well-suited for financial institutions looking to extend banking hours, enhance service, and expand brand visibility while reducing costs. “With these devices, institutions can offer service at more locations than traditional branch offices,” Clark says. “Cardholders can conduct transactions and discuss financial services needs outside of regular banking hours. Ultimately it means organizations can efficiently deploy tellers as required, bringing a new level of economy and flexibility in extending the bank’s brand footprint.”
Interactive teller devices have already been deployed in Canada and the U.S. The product provides customers with assistance for transactions such as teller cash withdrawals, cash and cheque deposits, teller account transfers, customer service inquiries, and new account initialization through a live, remote teller in a personalized, two-way audio/video interaction. By enabling institutions to be in more locations and offer more opportunities for face-to-face connection, the technology is meant to enhance human interaction rather than replace it.
Why DC Payments is offering interactive teller machines
Clark says that DC Payments’ decision to offer this technology to clients came naturally, given the company’s commitment to providing advanced technology that improves service.
“We’re always looking to offer the latest and greatest equipment to help meet our clients’ needs,” Clark says. “We want to assist financial institutions that don’t wish to invest in real estate and a traditional brick-and-mortar presence, by enabling the delivery of branch services virtually anywhere and anytime. It’s a great way for institutions to ‘test the waters’ with minimal investment and make the best decisions related to branch development.”
[cta]DC Payments continues to seek out new technologies and solutions to assist our financial institution clients, including interactive tellers, teller cash recyclers, ATMs, and related services.
