Employees Share a Passion for Community
Generosity is part of Canadian culture, and you’ll find it flourishing among DC Payments teams across the nation.
“We’re proud of the philanthropic initiatives of our employees and their supporters who generously contribute to the major charitable drives we run each year,” says Jenna Brown, DC Payments Social Committee Chairperson.
Wherever they’re located, DC Payments fundraisers and gift collections tend to be concentrated on local charities, especially for the two main events — collecting food for local food banks and the Christmas firefighters’ toy drive.
“We try to go local as much as possible,” says Brown. “People are very passionate about this. If they’re from Toronto, for instance, they want as much as possible to go to Toronto.”
These regular campaigns are only part of DC Payments’ commitment to helping the less fortunate in local communities across Canada.
To show their appreciation for these employee initiatives, DC Payments leaders encourage employee efforts by offering rewards. In addition to charitable donations made on behalf of the company itself, DC Payments staff organizes drawings for prizes with all proceeds going to charity. DC Payments may even cover the cost of charitable events.
“There’s such a culture of giving here at DC Payments,” Brown adds. “It’s really great in this economy that people can give — and they do. And it’s also great that the company values that.”
